Default Not yet

I spoke with them Tuesday last week (Feb 11), and they said they were just shipping the first ones. My order was placed on October... I'll post as soon as I get it.

FYI - Due to feedback they received at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in Germany, they plan to revise the design to incorporate a trainer port, and redesign the transmitter case.

Default Seeker II

I've received two SeekerII receivers from Polk Hobbies. One, about a month ago and one last Wednesday, February 12th. I have tested them both with my Hitech eclipse 7 with spectra module and my JR 8103 and they both work very well. Range is at least seventy five feet with the transmitter antenna collapsed. The only problem I encountered was, the first one came with the wrong instructions, but a call to Polk soon had that remedied. I hope the Tracker IIs work equally well. Being able to select any one of the fifty channels at any time is pretty handy.

Outssider - you might want to go grab some toothpaste... Or get used to loneliness. I have just gotten another update from Mr. Lewis Polk:
We have made changes in the system and it's being updated before delivery in early March.
Please don't shoot the messenger. After all, I'm waiting too.

Default Don't look now...but GORDON ANDERSON is working on something similar...

Dear Fellow RCU'ers:

The PIPE here yet again...and after getting in touch with Mr.MICROSTAR, Gordon Anderson on the phone last weekend it sure looks like his new PulseStar receiver could VERY well be available in a version that will NOT only do seeking on the 72 MHz band, but can also, if desired and properly equipped and programmed, ALSO seek out signals on six meters (for us Hams) as well!

His PulseStar receiver will be personal-computer-programmable, and can apparently even have a 2-line-by-16 character graphic display plugged into it to indicate its status...now THAT would be a receiver for the New Millenium!

His website is at http://mstar2k.com/ for your interest...Gordon's contact info is also there, too...that PulseStar Rx should be one VERY versatile receiver-and it could even act as a frequency monitor!

Yours Sincerely,

The PIPE!

and people call the Tracker II ugly... Look at the plane, not the Tx!!!

Sounds like an interesting system.

I noticed from his website he has "entered a exclusive license agreement with Fred Marks of FMA. FMA will be manufacturing the MicroStar system and hopes to have a full system available this fall." Does this licence agreement include the PulseStar receiver? If so, does FMA have the same ETA (this fall)? Will they package it with the MicroStar? How much $$?

I just realized that the statement of Gord Anderson licensing with FMA was dated August 4 2001. However, FMA still doesn't sell anything remotely resembling the Microstar's capabilities. I thought FMA "...hopes to have a full system available this fall."(2001). I can only find 4 channel radios at FMA's web-site.

Default Latest Tracker II update

Well, we should start seeing our radios soon.

According to MR. Polk, they have finished assembling them and updating the programming. They are now awaiting shipment to the US.

While browsing through the manual, I just noticed another feature I hadn't previously known about - "SPD FAIL SAFE SETTING"
quoted from the manual
This radio’s fail safe concept is based on the F.M. signal, not a PCM signal, so a preset control position for you model can be achieved upon loss of transmitter signal.

Dear All,

At long last the radio changes are made and are ready for prime time. They will be on an Airplane on Monday and get here by the following Monday after customs clearance and local delivery.

It will have been worth the wait.

'Yours truly,
Lewis Polk

Dear All,

Don't forget that we have been shipping the Seeker receiver for some time now and there have been no negative reports. It works as advertised and solves many problems.

We have sent new Trackers to the major magazines for review and will get some out to this forum soon.

Yours truly,
Lewis Polk

Default Jist to throw my 2 cents in here

Mr Polk has been very prompt at answering my numerous questions. And being new to the hobby, I am sure some of mine are very simple, and most would consider beneath them to take the time. Not Mr Polk.

I canceled an order for two systems from another source for a different radio system after repeatedly being put on hold for over 15 minutes (Long Distance) only to have the same person come back and ask "Now what were you calling about?"

I have ordered 2 systems from him, simply based upon what I have read and upon his committment to customers like me. I can't wait to get these in my hands. These two systems are going to cost me less than 1/2 of the two I cancelled.

He tried to email me a copy of the manual just before the first of the year, and it didn't work. He was not satisfied until he figured out how to get it in a format I could read on my end.

If this radio is half what it is supposted to be and at the price it is being offered, I think it is the deal of a lifetime.

Offered for what it is worth,

Chappy

I agree with you on all the above mentioned points Chappy. As proof of Mr. Polk's commitment to his customers, he chose to delay the release in order to update the programming, and produce a product he can be proud of.

I too was ready to order a different radio when I learned about the TrackerII back in September. After a bit of research, I quickly changed my mind and placed an order in October. If this radio lives up to expectations, I may never have to buy another. I have been sitting on pins & needles for months now waiting for it's release. I acn hardly wait to test it out.

Default Seeker II shipment has arrived

I got an email from John Gill, Sales Manager at Polk's Hobby yesterday (28 March). He said they had received their shipment of Seeker II's, and the two I ordered will be shipping in the next couple of work days.

Here's the latest update for anyone here who hasn't seen it in other threads:

The Tracker II has been shipped early last week to all pre-paid or credit card orders, and at least 2 people have posted here that they have already received their systems.

http://www.rcuniverse.com/showthread...178&forumid=27

Filkster - If you are still reading this thread, I tried to email you a copy of the manual as you requested, but the email address provided was invalid..
