RE: Futaba announces 2.4 Ghz modules
Hope they are right!
BREAKING NEWS!
We have just received word from our Futaba sales rep that Futaba will be announcing very shortly their new 2.4Ghz Spread Spectrum RF modules and receivers for their current module-based systems, as well as new Spread Spectrum based systems! This includes the 9C, 9Z, 12Z and 14MZ. These units are expected to be available VERY SOON! So, if you have been waiting for modules for your Futaba system, your wait is just about over! No longer will you have to worry about using non-Futaba brand modules in your Futaba system!

As a Great Planes dealer (ie, Futaba, O.S. ect..) I can confirm this news. I had called about this a few weeks ago and they claim that it will be ready to ship before Horizon ships thier JR versions. They should have the modules on display at Toledo. Gotta love that place!

"That guy" is Tony Stillman, a well known pattern pilot, long time owner of Radio South, and also now an AMA District Vice President for District V. He has been at this longer than most of us ion this forum. He has an impeccable reputation. He is a Futaba dealer, member of Team Futaba, and if he says it, then I think we can believe it.

Along with the Futaba website that has been edited to remove that info, my post on the above mention RCU forum to Bax has been deleted. I wrote back after he said that (As of now, we have not been given any information by Futaba or the Futaba people in the U.S. If this is true, they are holding it "close to the chest".) So I asked, pretty much, why others say there is something out there and you don't know. It has promptly been deleted. Conspiricy???

Suppose the sales rep that spilled the beans to Tony Stillman will need a new job? Or maybe it was an intentional leak? Don't you love a good mystery!

Their timing is perfect if this is true especially with all the talk that has been going on about them being behind. Right before Toledo and Top Gun and if they beat Horizon and others to the stores with actual product supply for the 9C's and up than this is one of the best kept secrets in a while. Gotta love it from a business standpoint. Trick us into disappointment with a basic 6 channel rx/tx and then lay a present at our feet in Toledo and surprise the rest of the market. Now if I can only order a new 9C or 12z system with 2.4, I will be even happier. Go Futaba

RE: Futaba announces 2.4 Ghz modules
I guess Futaba really wants to know how dedicated the Futaba radio owners really are. Maybe there afraid that if they put out a after market module or an other add on for the 9C & 9C Super. People wont buy just the module and want a reason to buy a whole new different style radio. Remember when the Synth. Modules came out and then the 9C Super with the Synth. Module. I think they sold more radios than modules then to up date an older style 9C radio.
Maybe they are checking to see what the gods will hand down as far as Spektrum having to recall there produce and not allow it to be sold to be used with Futaba radios. Or maybe Futaba wants a sertain persentage of the sale.Who knows...... If this is the case we maybe in for a long wait.
