JR 8103 Prices
ok, i see on the Chief Aircraft website that on the specials page the JR 8103 is on sale for 379.95 and i am about to purchase it but deeper into the site it's regularly for 469.95. it seems the only differences is that it comes with different servos and reciever, but since i don't need the servos or the reciever i don't really care. but i'm just wondering, are those things the reason for the difference in the price?

Those servos are actually better than the ones that are listed with the regular priced 8103. The one thing you aren't getting is a 9 channel receiver, they are substituting a 7 channel.
Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

that's what i thought, i already have a 7 channel reciever and i don't need a 9, so i'm not worried about it(although it would be handy), but i don't have an extra 90 bucks to spare. i just wanted another's opinion, so thanks

JR 8103 Prices
I just got mine about two weeks ago. The digital servos are my first experience with them. I was wondering about them. They are impressive. They do get alittle getting used to since they tend to buzz most of the time.
The 7 ch R700 receiver is fine since I also have an 8 ch. FMA receiver and so far haven't had a need for more than 6 channels. Also the 7 ch is very small and light. No problem even in a larger indoor flyer.
This is my second computer radio. I had a Futaba 6XAs for about 3 months. What can I say but everyone makes a mistake once in a while.
The 8103 transmitter is very nice mechanically and with ease of programing.
I don't regret it at all. I nearly bought the 378 until I heard on this board about the Chief deal.
I may go for a high capacity Nimh battery pack. Radical R/C has them to 1650 mah.

Yes, it's a good deal. In fact, if you care about weight, R700rx (7 chennel), which comes in the 8103 promo package, is lighter than Hitec 555 (5 channel) - the popular choice for E-planes. And with 7 channel, flaperon (mixing aileron and AUX 1) is possible!
