Default Hitec flash 5X or Futaba 6YG, what do you recomend?

OK so I flew the fire bird II and I like it, but thinking ahead I would like to get a kit so that I get the building experience and the radio system that I could use with most planes (electric, slow, park fliers, glow, gliders etc).

I'm undecided for which of the two to pick

Futaba 6YG:
6 Channels
analog radio I think (if I'm wrong please let me know)
$159
or

Hitec flash 5X:
5 Channel
Computer radio
$169

both come with reciever, bateries, and servos (unless I missread the ads).

Do I want to start with more channels or a computer radio?
Will I need all 6 Channels, i don't know.

What do people around here prefer?
and if you have a different radio in the same price range to recomend please do so.

OK Just Read the description of the RD6000 and sounds like this is very good deal for $189.

Default Welcome to the hobby!

To be honest these are all fine radios for what you mentioned... I have used the 5X (Hitec) and it is pretty slick for the price, it has digital trims and is relatively easy to program-

Having said that- If you can get the Airtronics RD-6000 (Sport?) for $189- DO IT!

I HAVE NOT FLOWN with this radio but the evidence is here- do a search for RD-6000 and you will find many experienced pilots that prefer this radio to other more expensive systems**

Keep us posted,
james
