Default Futaba 9CAP - help need to change channel

I have a Futaba 9CAP on channel 34 FM. I bought this Tx about 3 years ago. I want to purchase a rc unit that comes only in channel 37.

I cannot change the receiver since it's integrated, so I was thinking about changing the transmitter channel.

Is this possible or will I have hits and performance issues? On this forum, a member said I can purchase a Futaba synthesized module which I assume will let me dial in any frequency.

If this is possible, will I have to "re-tune" the Tx after inserting the module. Will there be any performance issues or am I more likely to have a hit?

Thanks in advance...

You can purchase a module for whatever channel you want or the synthesized Futaba module that will allow you to select a channel. The transmitter will function normally, although the synthesized module draws more current and exhausts the battery a little more quickly. At least mine does. Range etc. should be the same.

The ability to change channels without re-tuning is one of the advantages of having a transmitter with a module. All of the RF stuff (technical jargon) that determines tuning is in the module. My brother has the Futaba synthesized module in his 8U. He replaced the original 600mah battery pack with a 1450 or 1650 mah pack and his transmitter seems to be able to run forever.

You can....
A. Spend the money for a synthesized module and fly on any channel you have recievers for
or
B. Buy a module thats on the channel you need.

Either way will work and are safe and legal.

You can also change the crystal on the receiver. Not sure what you meant by integrated. Is the crystal integrated?!

This would be the synthesized module you would need
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXHKB1&P=M

or the individual channel module you could use
http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=LXH256**&P=M
just state the channel desired when ordering

Make sure that the receiver is natgative shift FM(PPM) or it won't work.

http://www.rctoys.com/pdf/draganflye...rymagazine.pdf
Found an article where it says they use a standard Futaba FM radio so he should be fine with the 7CAP if he puts it in the PPM mode.
