Saw a similar question before in the Futaba forum. They suggested that a micro-switch had gone bad that the lever operates. It would be either that or a broken wire IMO. Sounds like service shop time.[]

Depends on how old the unit is. Check with Futaba for that info.

nope. Switches and buttons are excluded from their warrenty, found that out when I got mine brand new ,with a busted switch and was told to go pound sand and cough up 60 bucks to ship it and fix it, then was told to hush up about the lack of slave trim function for mixes, need the 9CAP for that.[:@] other than that it been the best radio I've ever owned

Futaba has a one year warranty on all of their products, guaranteeing the item against factory defects. A trim or trim button would be cosidered warranty. Under certain circumstances, a broken switch would even be considered warranty.

If a switch is not under warranty, the cost of a new one would be approximately $5.00 each.

Please send your radio in if you are having a problem with the trim buttons and we will take care of this for you under warranty.

Sincerely,
Krysta

if that's your policy then someone at hobby service scammed me out of a warrenty job. The printed warrany specifically stated that switches and button are excluded, if they changed there policy since then I stand corrected, right on. otherwise

workorder# 236677
serial number# 40303093

unit was sent in a month after purchase, I foget the exact cost but 20 bucks shipping 12 dollars for the switch and 30 somethin for labor

Please send an email to our support address. The workorder number you provided above does not have a transmitter on it. We'll need a full name and address so that we can do a proper lookup and see what's going on.

If warranty corroboration isn't provided when we get an item, we can't offer warranty service.

At any rate, here's the support address:

And this is why you put the orig reciepts in the orig box and put it safely on a shelf.

FWIW, I had the same problem with my 7CAP on my first flight for the season. The TX had been unused for a couple of months. After some frenetic "clicking" on the switch it started working again and the problem has not re-emerged. Probably some oxide on the contact points of the switch...

I was having problem with dial type pushbutton switch with push function only so I cant choose my another model from current one for loong, hard tries or cant reset the timer etc. Then I use contact cleaner spray from outside of the Tx box towards the root of dial button and miracle,it began to work again easily. So I recommend you to use contact cleaner before thinking to send it back.
