HELP! Miracle-Y not so miraculous after all
Hi all,
I picked up a pair of MPI "miracle-y's", basically a servo "Y" with a reverser. It works great at 4.8 volt, but when I hook up the 6.0v battery the servos no longer respond and move irratically on their own. These claim to be 4.8 and 6.0v compatible, but both of them freak out at 6.0v. Any suggestions besides just running the 4.8V pack?
Thanks!

Could it be you need a regulator? I doubt the "Y" would be at fault. I guess it would be easy enough to test. Plug one servo straight into the RX without the "Y" and see what happens.

HELP! Miracle-Y not so miraculous after all
It's the Y.
Both servos through Y on channel 2, 4.8 volts: Works fine.
Single servo direct into Channel 2, 4.8 or 6.0 volts, Works fine.
Both servos through Y on channel 2, 6.0 volts, problem surfaces.
Again, I have 2 of these, brand new in the package, and both are doing the same thing.
Any help would be appreciated!

I had the same problem----those Y's need a minute or 2 of system "on" time with a 5 cell pack--just enough to "burn" away the peak voltage, then they'll be fine.
Try turning on your radio and working the other controls for a few seconds, then see what hapens--they'll be fine after that.

Well that's scary. I tried that and they still don't work. I took apart one of my 605's and reversed it that way, forget this thing. What if it decides to stop working in flight? No elevator control. No thanks. I'll be mailing these back for a refund, bought them at the Lebanon, PA show. Garbage. (the y's, not the show!)

Hitec has also said that their servos will not work on the Miracle Y harness. Maybe it's just their digitals but the weird thing is it worked with the digitals for me when Hitec said it wouldn't.
I've used them before with great success using Futaba servos but not on 6v. Now that I have a Futaba 9C I don't need one as the radio will do it for me...

I had same problem a year or so ago using 6Volts,turn TX & Rx on and both Elev. servos would lock down. Was using HiTech 945 BB coreless servos Futaba Rx,Sounds as though you mave have gotten one that they didn't update,I was told at the time they were reviseing them to accept 6 Volts.Maybe you got an old one, I have them in 4 planes using 6 V.no problems,Good luck Bob
