Default 129DP vs 149DP

Why is there such a huge price diff between the 129 an 149 rx's? I know the 149 has a DSC port an i know it is also newer, But both are 1024 PCM an both are 9ch. The 129 is no longer made i know. But in the want adds right here on rcu the price diff is crazy when they are pretty much the same thing. One has a newer case an the other looks like an old 127 rx. But when its in your plane wrapped in foam who cares what it looks like. just so it works.

Like you said they work, the 149 is newer and in production, the price on discontinued items is usually bargin basement.

I agree with you 100% Barracuda. But when the 129 was in production it was not as high as the 149. But if you look at everything from bread to gas to a gallon of milk its all going up. I was not even thinking of that when i wrote this. Its just weired how tings like that work

I have at least 25 R129 DPs in service some of which are 17 years old. All have been problem free. Cannot say the same for the 149s as 2 of four have failed and been classified as non repairable by the Futaba service center. All they were able to determine was that they were out of warranty.
There is a fairly long thread on here going back to the end of 04 and into 05 describing the peculiar mode of failure that some 149 users were having. It seems that people with good ones had zero problems while those with the bad ones gained some experience.[]
