RE: Best servo for the buck? 90 size.
Frankly it is the one that satisfies YOU!
Dick Hanson would probably say the JR Sport 126 on six volts------He loves 'em!
I would say that at the moment we do not have enough specifics to tell---------What kind of flying? What A/C and weight? What power levels? What voltage? What radio system? What size control surfaces? Soft mounted or hard?
In a word too many variables.
Just .90 doesn't tell us much.
To really get specific neither does the word 'Best' as this can mean different things to different people.

You should take a look at Tower Hobbies' digital servos. http://towerhobbies.com/products/towm4600m.html
The Tower TS150 Standard Digital High Torque Servo. It's a lot of bang for the buck.
Torque:
(4.8V) 162 oz-in (11.7 kg/cm)
(6.0V) 193 oz-in (14 kg/cm)
These bad boys will pull your car out of a ditch and the price is right.

Jcintexas, the tower servo ts 150 looks good. Have you used them? They are not coreless, so how good are they at centering? Who do you think makes them for them?
Thanks!
Thanks!

TS150 http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?Q=&I=TOWM4608 shows Hitec Gear set and Horn set.
NB: Hitec and Futaba horns are not interchangeable as they use a different number of splines - Hitec (24) will not fit onto Futaba output shaft (25). Whilst the Futaba horn appears to fit the Hitec output shaft, it will slip under load.

Take a look at Troy Built Models website, probably answer your questions on servos. The 5645mg Hitecs at $45 would be a good choice.

In that price range the Hitec 5955 is the best by a long shot. I have tests that prove it if you are interested.

A tad over kill for a 90 size plane

You beat me to it. Running over 100oz of torque on a 90 is overkill. I ran 70oz all the way around on my katana v2 70 (basically a 90 size plane). Never had any problems and really put the plane through its paces.

AS I recall, most 60 to 90 size airplanes were designed when a standard Hitec HS425 would do the job. Personally, I have been using Hitec HE635's at 6 volts for a long time and the servo is 30 bucks most places.

I've found a good cheap sport digital is the Futaba S3152. For some reason these are a little hard to come by in the LHSs, but Tower sells them two for $57.38!
Look at the specs: at 4.8V you get 69 in-oz @.22sec and they'll do better at 6V if you want to run that voltage.
I used these to replace some old coreless servos in my mule, a 160 powered Ultra Stik.
