Long Servo Arms?
Question for you radio folks.. Putting together a Seagull Edge 540 this winter, and from what I can tell, it recommends that you use "long" servo arms.. I'm planning to use Hitec HS625's on the plane.. anyone know which Servo arms to order? I looked at tower and there were some "large heavy duty hitec" arms, but I don't know if "large" means "long"?! Thanks in advance,
GD

Try this:

These are made by Dubro and it's what I use for long servo arms with Hitec servos.

These work well, and they are available from Tower Hobbies:

I have used the Dubro arms as well, and I like them too. However, Tower doesn't carry them for Hitec servos for some reason. ?? For larger planes, you probably should use all metal servo arms, but HD plastic arms are fine for 60 sized planes, like your Edge.
I have a Seagull Edge 540 with a Saito 125 on it, and I like it a lot. It isn't the best for all-out 3D, but for basic 3D, pattern, and all around fun flying, it is a tough bird to beat!
Your choice of HS625 servos is a pretty good one, but I prefer digital servos. The HS5625 and HS5645's aren't that much more money, but they have quite a bit higher performance. If you haven't already bought your servos, check out the HS5645 prices from someplace like Troy Built Models:

RE: Long Servo Arms?
One thing to keep in mind is not to use any longer servo arms than you really need. I used a set on my plan and ended up and had to tune down the throws which made no sense sicne I was losing resolution. So I ended up and installed heavy duty, but shorter servo arms

RE: Long Servo Arms?
Thanks Fellas! I'll probably order the Hobbico ones from Tower that claim to fit the Hitec servo's.. And yes, I'd like to get the digital servos but you gotta draw the line somewhere with these projects!!
