I accidently cut my antenna wire about 10" from the end. I was working on my plane.....long story. It's a fut seven channel fm receiver on channel 36.
Can I simply solder the wires back together and put small shrink tubing around it?
Thanks in advance.

It's too liable to bend (breaking the solder joint, solder is NOT flexible) Your safest bet is to use a new piece of wire entirely and desolder the old antenna and solder a new one to the base. Just generally a better idea.

Have to agree with Full Replacement. If you don't feel comfortable opening the Rx you could leave about 6in of the original and have the joint in the Fus where is can be supported. Only thing I would add is that you choose a very flexible wire with a high strand count. Easier to snake through the plane and less likely to have breakage while trailing in the wind.
