Default AR7000 vs AR6200 size????

I am running the DX7 and AR7000 in my fuel planes.............I am putting together a 2meter glider and was thinking about buying a AR6200 for the glider...........is it physically smaller...........I mean significantly smaller?...........if there isn't a meaningful size difference, I guess I would rather have another AR7000..............the AR7000 isn't what you would call a big "honker".............

I would like to hear from some folks that have actually seen the two side by side......

Default RE: AR7000 vs AR6200 size????

I have both. The 6200 has a satellite like the 7000 and it's the same size. The main RX in the 6200 is somewhat narrower and a bit thinner than the 7000. The 7000 has end connectors and the 6200 has the connector block on top. I find the 6200 easier to use because of this. The binding port on the 7000 can be a bit difficult to find without taking the RX out.

the 6200 had to be a marketing ploy as aside from it being a 6 channel it could have been a 7 channel -just reconfigured for pin locations
Ibet it costs as much to make as the 7 channel- I have both - both work and setup and operate perfectly.
Spektrum did make it compatible - with any of the other new TX.

Well I guess my definition of smaller is different than MrMulligan's....

The 6200 is a chunk smaller than the 7000 but does have the same size satellite rx as he noted. The more common size comparison would be with the 6100 rx. The 6200 is the same length, about 1/16" wider and about 3/16" thicker than the 6100 i.e. the 6200 is 1 1/4" x 13/16" x 7/16" minus it's satellite rx.

Does that help?

If you are not really tight for space, then consider the pin direction.

If you don't need 7 channels then the AR6200 is cheaper.

Both have one main receiver and one remote.

Both seem to work well.
