Default Futaba 7C tx -- support dual elevators?

Greetings, does the new Futaba 7 channel transmitter work well with dual evevators? Seems like perhaps an older model did not, but I might not be remembering that right either.

Okay, so if the new 7C does work with dual elevators, does it work correctly so that you have trims for each elevator half, etc.?

I'm happy with my old 6XAS tx, but it is limited when needing dual elevators.

What are your thoughts? Thanks loads,

Ernie

Hi Ernie,

Yes, thew new 7C 2.4GHz transmitter does have the capability of dual elevators, and they can both be trimmed as needed.

Please see a listing of the features on our website at:

Thanks Krysta!

Hahaha, I understand THAT!

It's actually on the right hand side of the page, listed under "Airplane Advanced Menu:" and it states "Ailevator feature simplifies dual servo setups on elevators".

Wow, I can get just the 7CA tx, here for $149. Seems like a steal. This isn't an older model that won't support the dual elevators or anything is it?

Thanks again,

Ernie

Ernie,

If you are looking at a 7C 72Mhz system, no, it will not support the Dual Elevators, you won't be able to trim the second elevator. This is something new in the 7C 2.4GHz FASST system.

Ohhhh no, bummer. I didn't realize there were new changes besides the FASST 2.4Ghz addition.

Is there going to be a new 7C, 72Mhz system that will trim both elevators?

If I want to stick with 72Mhz and need dual elevators that trim correctly, would I have to go to a 9 channel 72Mhz system?

Thanks loads,

Ernie

Isnt it possible to just use one of the P-Mixes to slave the elevator servos together? Could be trimmed using the Channel Sub-Trims. ( I actually tried this with my 7C, but could only get the slave servo to turn CounterClockwise, but I think that is a problem with my radio...)

you CAN use a p-mix, but if you need to trim the ELE while in flight... it will only work for one half..that would be bad

Isn't the new 7C tx going to be offered in 72Mhz as well as 2.4Ghz???? Apparently only the new 2.4Ghz model has the ability to run two elevator halves correctly with trims and all.

Thanks,

Ernie

Oh! I didnt realize it'd do that... I had just assumed that when you moved the trim for the master channel, the slave would trim also, since it was mimicing the master servo... Looks Like it was an even better idea than I thought upgrading to a 9C

Yeah, the 9C is a very flexible radio. You don't even have to use the ailervator mix if you don't want to use an 8 channel receiver, you can use a P-mix and not have the problem with trim as the 9C has the option in the P-mix of mixing the trim to the slave channel, you can do a 6 servo Extra 300 or other fixed gear aerobatic planes with only a 6 channel receiver[8D]

Hi Pete, I'm assuming on that 6 servo setup (9C) that dual elevators are working there.

Now what happens with my Electron 6 receiver that only has 5 places to plug into. With only one elevator servo, I have been plugging the battery into channel 5 so that I can use 1 and 6 for dual aileron servos. If I plugged a Y-cord into channel 5, could I use channel 5 and a 2nd elevator servo, and plug the battery into the Y-cord?

Thanks,

Ernie
