R149DP AND 5955'S
I AM ABOUT TO ORDER NEW R149DP FOR 5OCC PLANE. I AM WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH HITEC 5955'S RUNNING THRU THIS RECEIVER. I HAVE FIVE 5955'S READY TO GO INTO A NEW BIRD AND I AM CURIOUS IF ANY PROBLEMS ARE HAD THRU THIS SET UP.

RE: R149DP AND 5955'S
I have had glitching issues using this reciever(3 different Rx) with Hitec digital servos, Analog servos don't seem to manifest this problem (go figure). After replacing the Futaba reciever with a Hitec reciever I have has zero problems using either analog or digital servos.
For me, I as a rule will not use a Futaba reciever(R149) with Hitec servos.
I am sure that many others have used this combo without issues, I am only explaining my experience and my solution to the problem. I am also not bashing Futaba, In fact I am a big Futaba fan, just not that particular Rx.
Don't Taze me over this...just my experience.

Hitec came out with a fix a couple of years ago that was a firmware update for the servos. IIRC it's ver. 1.04 and those servos shouldn't cause a problem.
You may want to post this question over on the Hitec support forum for verification????

RE: R149DP AND 5955'S
Hi 3DAP
till today I fly all my jets with Rx 149 and Hitec's 5955.
In the past I lost two jets due to short high voltage peaks which kill the Rx-processor. Then I built in a filter-capacitor from EMCOTEC.
Now since over two years I made hunderts of flights without any problem.
EMCOTEC wrote about the capacitor:
* Filter Capacitor, directly connected to the receiver
* Effectively blocks short voltage peaks as well as voltage breaks
* Assures for constant power supply even under extreme conditions
* Especially recommended when using digital servos (“dynamo effect”)

RE: R149DP AND 5955'S
Have flown 2 years (350 flights) on a 33% Extra 330 with 7 Hitec coreless digitals. 3X 5955 ans 4X 5945 plus throttle (6965) and choke (JR 517). The receiver can handle all that plus probably more. It cant work with earlier digitals on a Y. Some people have told this particular receiver does not like heat... I have another one in a 35% 260 (150 flights) with tuned pipes inside the fuselage, no pipe tunnel, without any issue.
Not a single glitch in a total of 500 flights...

RE: R149DP AND 5955'S
THANKX GUYS I REALLY APPRECIATE THE FEED BACK. MY 5955'S ARE THE NEW VERSION (I THINK)
I JUST BOUGHT THEM WITH 29% EXTRA 300 FROM EXTREME FLIGHT I BELIEVE THEY ARE NEW.
THE STICKER ON THE SIDE OF SERVO SAY'S 7.07 ON FOUR OF THEM AND ONE OF THEM SAY'S 7.10.
IS THIS AN UPDATE NUMBER?
THANKX 3DAP

RE: R149DP AND 5955'S
I HAVE FOUR 5645'S 2 EACH ON A Y FOR TOP AND BOTTOM WINGS OF A 27% ULTIMATE RUNNING THRU THE R149DP THAT CAME WITH MY 9CSUPER. SO FAR LAST YEAR WAS IT'S FIRST YEAR 40 FLIGHTS AND NO ISSUES. I AM HOPING THAT I CAN CONTINUE THAT RECORD WITH 5955'S. I PLAN ON RUNNING AILERONS ON MY EXTRA THRU 1 AND 6 SO I WOULD NOT NEED A Y.
IS IT BETTER TO REVERSE ONE 5955 FOR DUAL ELEVATOR SET UP OR MIX IT? SO FAR I HAVE MIXED 2 AND 7 ON AILEVATOR OPTION.

RE: R149DP AND 5955'S
Ailevator is 2-8.
No problem with that, thats what I do in all my planes.
Don't bother with the updates. If the servos work on a Y through your 149DP then you have the latest update.
