Default Castle's BEC, Reliable or Not?

I posted this elsewhere but thought I would ask here too, to see what everyone thinks.

Just asking to see if anyone has had any problems/bad issues using their BEC in combination with spektrum/JR 2.4 receivers. Or do they work good.

I have one of their BEC's in hand but cant decide weather to install it or not, so far it has been rock solid with the sep. receiver battery.

I was/am using a JR 2300mah extra Nimh receiver battery, but in thinking of saving a few ounces(5oz. to be exact) I thought of installing Castles BEC. I do like the idea of a separate battery for electronics. I cant decide which way to go, BEC or sep. receiver battery. Any ideas or advice? Which way would you do it?

My setup is:

Fliton Edge 540 freestyle
E-flite power 60
Castle creations pheonix 80 esc.
APC 16x10e prop
Flight power 5s 3700mah lipo
AR7000 receiver (JR extra 2300nimh receiver battery)
JR x9303 2.4 radio
servos: hitec hs225mg(elevators), Hitec 5645mg(rudder), Futaba 3010's(ailerons).

Thanks for any help or ideas.

Use a receiver pack with it. I have had problems with the same setup on Spektrum. Otherwise get your receiver upgraded with the quick connect feature first.
