Default Futaba Fasst TM8 LATE FEBRUARY

After checking daily the status of the TM8 module hoping to see it in stock, I have just seen that they will be ins stock in late february, I am thinking of getting the TM7 for my 9ZWC2. Any comment?

Late February will be about a year since they were first announced I cant believe
Futaba has not known for some time how long it would take to get the TM8 to
market. IMO they should have been up front and said the modules would be
available around mid 2008 instead of stringing people along month by month.

Tower says end of Jan, probably not true as well. Especially if some have been waiting for almost a year!!!!
I hope they are trouble free when they do show up. Once we buy the TM8 they will probably release thee 9!!

The 8 channel Faast system as well as the 14 channel system has 2048 resolution rather than 1024.

3DAP, check Tower again. They moved it back to late Feb. They just keep moving the date back with impunity.

I was all ready to jump on the 2.4 bandwagon, but decided six months ago to just sit out all the grand entrances, wait till the dust settles, and then choose. I almost hit "purchase" when XPS came out, have been watching the Futaba ads with frustration, and am almost tired of the JR/Spektrum ads. I've been a Futaba flyer for 15 or more years. While my 9C has been great, my oldest son is about ready for a new radio, and whatever he gets will be compatible with whatever I fly. So we're both holding off for now, and when the technology is a bit more refined, we'll make the move together. It's kind of nice knowing that we could switch to ANY of the brands. Heck, I'm getting good at crimping servo connectors, so I could switch over out existing stock of servos/batteries/switches/extensions to any of the brands out there.
Be patient!

I have the 14MZ 2.4 module and it is SWEET. I have 8 hours of time and it has been rock solid.
I will continue to fly both 72 and 2.4, benifits on both.

I have been die hard Futaba since 94 and will continue to be.
I have only replaced batteries, switches and a few gimbols on the TX's I have. Normal wear and tear.

Had the JR Galaxy 8 and JR 10 for a short time and made the switch when I saw-felt-experienced the 9ZHPS in 94.

I have the 14MZ , 9ZHPS, 8U? and the 6XH, all bought new and all still work and function.
No brand wars meant here, to each his own.

Edit:
I have waited for the 2.4 for some time but it did not stop me from flying on 72.
I would wait a little more, the 6014 RX's are showing out of stock also, I am waiting for the
Bank Of Fun to get a few more $ and one or two 6014's are in order.

I have returned all of my 607fs receivers and cancelled the backorder on the TM-8 module, because if I were to use the FASST system, the only way I would trust it now is if I owned one of the receivers Futaba is sending to the hobby shops and could test my transmitter each and every time I turned it on at the field. This issue is far too serious because of the inherent safety hazard of a ZGUID tx condition when in the presence of another tx with the same condition, and I do not want to be the guy who finds out the TM-8 has problems, as well.

Alfredo, I have been using a TM-7 in a 9ZWC2 as well as other Futaba transmitters since Sept of last year. No problems at all, rock solid in electric and glo models.

Woodie
