Default Crystal Protective boot

Anyone know where I can get the little rubber boot around the crystal of a Hitec receiver?

Anything which keeps the dirt out and the crystal in will do.

This thread: http://www.rcuniverse.com/showthread...193#post838253 recently covered a few choices like duct tape, masking tape, hot-glue, electrical tape, etc....

It looks to me that although the boot keeps dirt out, it more importantly cushons the crystal from vibrating against the reciever case. Not sure if tape will do that.

If it was me (but it isn't), I would use either hot-glue or "brush-on" electrical tape. Both can be applied a little at a time, until the opening is closed, and both provide cushioning for the crystal.

The liquid rubber I am refering to is specifically designed for electrical use, as a replacement for electrical tape.

I wrap 8-10 wraps of pvc-teflon tape around the crystal to where it will just slide in, then put a piece of strapping tape over the top of the RX to hold it in

Crystal Protective Boot for Receiver

Mighty Mouse: I suggest that you contact Hobby Horse Wisconsin. They advertise in RCM and other magazines. They are one of the largest HiTec dealers in the US. I'm sure they can furnish a boot for little or no cost to you. I would not glue in the crystal! You may end up with a Spectra module and want to change the Rx frequency. Just my 2 cents worth.
