I was at my private little flying field today, when the lady who used to own the airport came up to me with a question. Her brother asked her to sell a couple of radio's for him, still dont know why he asked her to.So she asked if I knew anything about them,in the back of her car in two aluminum cases were two Pristine 9zap's,I dont know the exact model. What would these be worth, one does not have the module, the other does.Again, these things look brand new,no servo's or rx's.Just the tx's.I'm looking for a starting off point, even if you know the price of the base models' would be helpful. The only thing I can remember right now is the lower buttons were blue.

Default 9Z

If these are WC II's they go for 829.99 at Tower Hobbies which currently has the best price on them. 829.99 is the price for the 9ZAP WCII with out the module. The sticks on the 9Z Series WC2 radios are beveled on top and are also blue [I donít think the older 9Zís have these sticks]
.
.

.
Also Switches A, B, C, D, and G have a 3rd position on the WCII,

BTY I am interested in buying one of these radios !

Ok,it looks like they are the wc2,I remember the blue ends on the sticks. She is going to call me back tonight.I dont want to turn this into a forsale ad,so email me about it.I'm most likely going to buy them both, and put one up for sale.

Both have been spoken for,I'm keeping one. They were the WCII's,one with the module, one without.I'm keeping the one with the module, the digital voltmeter, stopwatch and extra duralite battery pack. Finally got a deal worth talking about, and it was dropped in my lap out of nowhere.I havent even looked through the instructions yet,but the module says something about being a syn module.Does that mean it will synthesize any freq?Does it matter about high or low band?

Man, that radio's going to go real nice with that plane you showed me. With the synthisized module it's going to be real nice with all your planes. Congrats

I'm talking about a person coming to an "expert" for advice on something and what it's worth and then that person taking advantage of ignorance and paying much below market for that item. Some call it free enterprise, but I don't when the individual came for information.

It was her choice to sell the radio, he just gave her the price he thought it was worth, expert or no expert, who knows she may have got them for free and made $625.00 profit. I know a few guys that would have offered her $100.00 for both radios right then and there, and they are so-called experts too. Daz...

Dennis,I've got news for you.I knew the price from the first time I met her,I even told her to call her brother, because I thought they were worth more then that and didnt want to take advantage of her.I then saw the posts on here about offering $600 for both and thought she was in the right ballpark. She then called me back later that night after talking to her brother and said he told her to just sell them for the $650.Just so you know, this is the second post I've watched from you that is off base.

Dazzler, that is the absolute truth. This is by far the best deal I've ever gotten in rc,probably never happen again. One side note to the story. The field I fly at is a private strip where I also keep my cub. While talking to the lady, who I already knew once owned the airport back in the 60's and 70's with her now deceased husband. She started to tell me a story about one time when she was starting a cub of theirs,a friend had left the throttle wide open.So she handprops the airplane and it proceeds to drag her for a good distance before hitting a large bump and becoming airborne,I guess the stick was tied all the way back and it only went 50 or so feet into the air before landing nose first in a swamp.Only 140 bucks to fix back then, but to hear her tell the story of her standing there watching her airplane do an auto takeoff was something else.I also owe her a ride in my cub now as part of the deal.

Default Hey KingAirJockey

Did you check with Futaba or Hobby Services to see if the radios have been stolen from a hobby shop or person? It's weird and I keep asking to my self way the guy give the radios to his sister to have them sell wen he can sell them him self, I mean, if he have two Futaba PCM WC-2 radios in mint condition (LNIB) the fist thing that I will ask her is were he got the radios before buying the radios, you should've track the serial num. first before buying, that way you don't run into any problem if some day you have to send the radio to repair, Futaba and Hobby services keep track of the serial num. of the radio, wen they receive a radio to have it check, the fist thing they do is verified the serial num. to see if the radio has been report stolen.....just curious.

My to $0.02

they are not stolen and they are both defective. The lady who was selling them was doing so for her brother, who's brother in-law passed away.He knew that she lived at an airport where rc flying is going on,and figured he had the best chance to do so.I've known this woman for a long time, her other brother is a capt in the state police, along with her daughter who is a trooper.Everything is on the up and up with the radio's,besides them not working.Read my other thread about the programming help. Please,no one else reply about buying the radio's,until I find out from futaba what is wrong with them, they are off the market for now.
