GWS for Giant Scale
I know the old saying "You get what you pay for."
Does this apply to GWS servos?
Do any of you have actual experience with these in a giant scale plane?
I have to ask because of the prices I see.
Thanks
Brian

I hope you are not talking GWS micros. Those I have used. They are great with the micro planes, but I have not seen anything larger that they make. They are great little servos, if they make big ones, I would think they would be a good servo as well. Don't know that I would put them in a giant scale though. I tend to like to use a servo that I know well in a large plane.

I don't have personal experience with them (yet), but some of them have impressive specs:

Make sure you check the speeds as well. They have some 100oz/in servos real cheap, but slow.

Thanks guys,
Flyboy...micro's??
The speeds/torque indicated tell me if I used the right combonation of servos offered,I will have plenty and with good speed.I can use more than one servo so I am not limited to that 100oz servo.
Anyone with actual experience with these in Giant scale would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, I was only familiar with their tiny servos. Didn't realize they were making these. I just looked at the heavy duty servos, but they are pretty slow. After I started using the really fast servos, I really notice the slow ones in my planes. I put .11 Sec servos in my heli and WOW, what a diff. Now it seems like the servos in most of my planes are slower than heck.
Looks like fairly good stuff though.

I have used this one on 1/4 scale....
http://www.balsapr.com/catalog/trans...roductId=BP220
it is so fast on 6v you can't see it...
only down side is there is a crappy warranty on all gws servos....I believe it's only 90 days...i never had a problem with the s 15 ' s that i have owned but I did have a tiny one on throttle that i shook to death after about 6 months use.....
I was told that the reason the gws servos are quite a bit less than hitech is because hitec has a 2 year warranty and that is what you are paying for....gws=virtually no warranty

Those prices are awfully tempting.
I have yet to see these in action.
There are many to choose from with so many different specs.
I hope to hear more things about them.
Thank you
