Making futaba extensions
I'm in the process of making extension and Y harnesses for a couple planes.
I bought wire from radio shack, 22 gauge, stranded.
I think the wire on the servos is 24 gauge and the strands are thiner than that of the wire bought.
will using this thicker wire cause problems? Such as battery drain or other problems?

Generally the wire from Radio Shack is inferior. Quality wire for R/C use in 22 gage usually has 60 strands. Just because it is 22 awg, does not mean it is quality wire. Personally I do not use Radio Shack for anything related to my R/C hobby.

You can get the wire, connector kits, and tools as well as anything else you'd need from RADICALRC.COM. Dave is a great guy and I've dealt with him often.

In general, your 22 gage wire will be better than the 24 gage wire. The only thing the more strands does is make the wire less susceptable to damage due to repeated flexing and also be more flexable. As long as the wire you are adding does not get flexed repeatedly and does not need to make sharp bends, the Radio Shack wire will technically do as good a job as any other wire. It will just be stiffer and probably heavier due to a less expensive insulation around it.
