Default maximum rx voltage

what is the maximum voltage this rx can use..... i was readin in another thread that a certain jr rx (not specified) can handle up to 9 volts..... http://www.jrradios.com/Products/Tec...odID=JRPR649**

The RX's can handle higher voltages. Its the servos that can't handle these higher voltages. The servos will jitter continuously and will burn out fairly quickly. The circuit in the servos is the limiting factor not the RX circuit.

That being said its possible to use 5 cell Nicd or Nimh packs unregulated. Voltages above this like lipo or li-ion 2 cell packs come off the charger at 8.4v and this is way to high for the servos to take. You should regulate down to about 6V in these situations. Realize that a full charged nicd or nimh can come off the charger up near 7v and this is pushing the limits but will not hurt anything.

thank you, i did not know that, i always thought the rx was limiting factor.........................my 4 cell li-ion comes off the charger at about 8.37 and the regulator i have is adjustable from 5.3 -.6.3 so i'm assuming ill be ok if i regulate to the max.....

Very often it is the capacitors that limit the voltage of the receivers. To keep the size small and weight light, the smallest electrolytics are used which means that they go with the ones which have the lowest voltage rating. Open the case and see if there is a voltage limit marked on the electrolytics.
