Default Airtronics -vs- JR

Hey All,

I've determined that it's time for a new transmitter. Currently everything I own is Airtronics and I know that JR and Airtronics are supposed to be compatible. My question is, Which Radio would you spring for and why. Airtronics RD6000, RD8000 or the JR X-378. I'm just not sure which way to go.

Thanks all,

Scott J. Wolke

If you already have airtronics equip. go for the RD 8000 great radio and great price!!
I just bough an RD6000 and been pretty happy with it, I went for the 6000 because I do not see more than 6 chan. in the foreseeable future

Default is it this good?

i have the rd6000. There is a questionable feature- D/R and Exponential. It seems to me u cannot seperate the D/R-1 and EXP-1 settings. in the aircraft program, to select D/R-1 for the EL you flip the switch on the top left radio. But this switch also ACTIVATE the EL EXP-1 settings.
so how can you activate the combination- D/R-1 and EXP-2 ?

You'll love the RD 8000. Spend more time flying and less time learning menus and programming, not that programming is all that bad but........

I paid 280 for mine. That's the cheapest I could find where it was in stock in the channel I wanted. I'll have it Wed. evening.
