Default 9303 2.4 Heli and Airplane the exact same transmitter?

I fly heli and airplanes and wonder if they are exactly the same transmitter? I see JR lists a Heli radio as well.

I plan to use it for both. Is the programming the same? Just select which type aircraft?

Thanks

While each 9303 has Airplane, Sailplane, and Heli programming, there are some subtle differences in the layout of the switches and throttle, in the Heli version, which makes it easier to fly Heli's.

Some people claim that it is easier to do 3D in airplanes with the heli radio. Specially the hovering maneuvers, or maneuvers where the smooth application of throttle commands is necessary.

As someone that flys both, I am one of those that makes that claim

Hmm..... Matching color schemes even, nice....

After trying the smooth throttle tx on my "planks".... with a DX7 heli version I got for the differences in the switch locations/types, I ordered my X9303 in a heli version as well and I prefer that for the planes.

While I don't know that I'd call what I do with heli's as "flying" I'm still trying to learn those as well....[8D]

I own no heli's but bought my son's Spektrum DX-7 in the heli version (he flies an electric Mini-UltraStick) and my recent purchase of a JR X9303 is also the heli version.
