Default DX6i, whats the catch?

I've been using a Futaba 6EXA ever since I've gotten into the hobby, but it's beaten up and I feel I need to go 2.4ghz anyways. I've been looking at the DX6i, seems to have everything the 6EXA has and more, but why is it so cheap? Is the range the same? I won't by flying anything way "out there". The biggest model I have is a great planes RV-4 1/4th scale, and I think that's about as big as I will go. I also fly some parkflyer EDF's and 3D planes.

Probably to compete with the 6 channel Spectrum and get folks started in Futaba 2.4. Just my guess.

I think he's asking "Why is the DX6I so cheap?"-I don't know if you can call it "Cheap", but "Futaba" has always been quite "proud"($) of their products-

Nothing wrong with the DX6i and the receiver that comes with it is a full range version. I think the price is set to undercut the Futaba 6EX FASST system. By the way the Futaba programming is identical to the transmitter you have so there would not be a learning curve to the DX6i.

I'm not sure the DX6i has more features than the 6EX.

Both are good 2.4 systems so take your pick.

For not much more you could go to a 7CAP 2.4, with a load more features.

Any extra features that I would find useful for my type of flying with the 7CAP? Hows the reliability on these things in comparison to my current radio, I've never had a lockout or any form of interference.
