The RC Power Duck antenna
I have seen this flexible RC Power Duck antenna advertised and wondered if it would make a suitable replacement on my Futaba 8UAF Tx or should I just get a standard unit as a replacement.

It should work well and have far more range than you need. I used one on a Futaba 8 and 9.
Some advice: If you get one, remove the antenna when you are not flying. Then your transmitter is the same as collapsing the regular antenna. Your flying friends may get nervous if you leave it on in the pits. If you accidentally turn on your transmitter, you are sending out full power.

RE: The RC Power Duck antenna
I have one on my 9C. The 9C is glitchy. Could be the antenna or could be that the 9C needs to be serviced at Futaba. I can tell you this, Futaba refuses to service a radio with the Duck on it. It must have the original antenna for them to service it. Now that my 10C has arrived, I'll put the original antenna back on it and send it to Futaba for service. Regarding the comment about removing the antenna, I'm sure what is meant by "when you're not flying" is "when the Tx is turned off. You wouldn't want to turn the Tx on with the antenna detached. The one thing I'm sure of is that the Duck is much prettier than the original telescoping antenna.

No problem. Seems as if there was a very good bearing this year and they are just coming into season primarily in St Elizabeth and South Manchester, but will not reach full maturity until late July or early August. I had some today and they were not bad.
