I trying to find the same answer myself. I'm considering a 10C radio and Rumor has it that there are some Hitec servos that need to be upgraded in order to work with the 6014 receiver because of the low voltage. I have a LOT of 5625 / 45 and 5945 servos and no intentions of having them upgraded in order to work with the Futaba 6014 receiver. I'll buy another radio first.

I've been following some threads over on FG about this issue with the Hitec servos and the Futaba 6014 rx. Seems as though Futaba cut the signal voltage output on that rx down to 2.7 volts which can create an issue for servos designed to work with 3.0 volts or above.

From what I can conclude at this point; the issue has been identified with 5955 servos over there and seems to be isolated to certain rx ports. Since there is so much "brand loyalty" going on over there, I find it difficult to determine if the issue is common to other Hitec servos whether digital or analog.

IIRC, the Hitec USA reps have posted that there either is a fix or it's in the works, can't remember which but I do think Hitec will offer something as they did when there was an issue with the Hitec servos and the sinking current of the R149DP rx's when they were released. The rep also indicated that there were no problems with the 7955 servos and the 6014 rx although I've not seen posts from users regarding that as the 7955's haven't been out all that long. The 7955 uses a different motor and board than the 5955 and maybe the reason they work, or it could be that those new servos have a different firmware which allows for the lower signal voltage.

How this might affect other models of the Hitec servos is unknown to me as I've not followed anything but threads on the big titanium geared digitals. If anyone has a bunch of Hitec servos and is considering using a 6014 rx, I'd strongly suggest you investigate this lower signal voltage issue. I don't recall seeing any posts about problems with the Futaba 7 and 8 channel FASST rx's.

I've been useing the Futaba Fasst receiver 607,617 & 608 with these Hitec servo 5945,5955 and haven't had any issues so far. I do follow what Bax says and keep my plane out of direst sun light and cover the canopy with a white towel. I use both the Futaba 9C, and 10C with these receiver/servo combination and everything works fine. I make sure I do a ground check at the beginning of each flying day.
I have my Fasst receivers mounted in with a narrow velcro strap and away from my engine to reduce vibration. One my receivers I have small stick on plastic dots to raise the futaba receiver up off the wood mounting plate to allow air to curclate under the receiver.

When I first installed a 6014 in my W/H Edge which has 5645's on the elevators one servo worked and the other did not I subsequently fitted Emcotec servo signal boosters (see photo) and all is ok. At this moment in time this problem only exists with the 6014 R/X due to it's lower signal voltage of 2.7V all the other Fasst R/Xs are compatable with Hitec servos
