Default GWS Servos - Should I use them?

I am building my first ARF, an Electrajet. I need two elevon servos of the approx size of a Hitec HS-81.

I was looking at the GWS line. Any opinions? Are these good servos? Bad Servos? Comparable?

I appreciate any guidance you can provide. I am very new at this.

I will be using a Hitec Prism 7X radio. Haven't selected the receiver but the Hitec 555 is the likely candidate.

Is there any problem mixing brands of receivers with different brands of servos?

Any recommendations on receivers? I want a minimum of 4 channels with 1 mile range.

Default GWS Servos - Should I use them?

I'm sure many of us are using GWS servos wearing other ID stickers. They are a huge manufacturer of servos in the industry.

Interesting that you need such range. Our systems are "line of sight" and low powered. You might want to check out FMA Direct. They have the lightest dual conversion receiver on the market at this time. They also have a line of servos. There are alot of 555's out there too. If you want a very light receiver and are willing to use a single conversion, then the Berg is worth a look.

Hope this helps.

Your best bet is to conduct a search for what you are looking for

Thanks for the advice.

The Hitec 555 looks like a good size and, with 5 channels it will work well in larger models. The 1 mile comes from the fact that most receivers come rated for about 1000 feet, or 1 mile and our field is 1000' by 1800 feet, so that is less than the size of hte field and I already fly that far out with my Aerobird.

Hi
I Have 2 Electrajets now and have the GWS PICO BB servos in both. They fit right in the space with no alterations. The one plane has had a rough life and they still work well. The price is right also.

I was concerned that the Pico GWS servos might not be strong enough. I went for the Nano+.

Glad to hear GWS makes a good product.

I purchased some Pico+ servos from [link=http://www.servohut.com]www.servohut.com [/link] about a year ago and they have a whole lot of time on them and are still proficient and reliable. The price was right and so has the fun been.

I only have about an hour total flight time on the Electrajet, but the GWS Naro servos fit perfectly in the cut outs and seem to have plenty of power to make the surfaces responsive.
