Futaba 8UAP stick springs.
Is it advisable to install stiffer springs in my 8UAP sticks. I have some trouble with unwanted cross controlling with Ail. Elv inputs. I know that is why some people fly mode 1, but whan I started RC back in "58" all I had was "1" mode, it was rudder only.

I use -50% to -60% expo now, my problem was cross control. When pulling up elv. I would get a unwanted ail. command and with ail. command I would get unwanted elv. input. My super 7 was not so bad but the 8 is so soft, even with the tension increased to max, I have trouble feeling neutral on the other control. I have installed springs from a old Conquest transmitter and it feels good to me. I was just wondering if it would be detrimental to the stick assemblies.
Thanks for the input.

I had the same trouble, I tried tightening up the adjusters on the stock springs, but still too light. I drove to Pensacola and while I waited, the guys at Radio South installed stiffer springs in my 8UAP and 5 other Txs I had brought for other guys. It works great, dont wait, send it to them and try it out....Lenny

Thanks for the input, I installed springs from an old Conquest and like it fine. I guess if radio south installs heavier springs it must be 'OK'.
Thanks again for your response.....Jerry

Thanks for the information, seems I am not the only one that likes stiffer stick springs. I will order a set, I like the full circle ends, the Conquest springs only have a hook on the end.
Thanks again
Jerry
