If memeory serves me correctly,
401 is a predecessor to the 501. It is a standard, cored, sport servo with torque around 35 plus oz.
4011 is a high precision coreless, dual BB, servo with torque around 46 plus oz.
Both are analog servos and quite functional today.
You can go to the Horizon website and verify this information or send them a quick email.

Hi,

Here is some info that I have gathered over the years. I hope it can help.

NES 401/2 41oz/in (3kg/cm) .31sec 38.5 x 19 x 41.5mm 1.51oz (43gr) 4.8 volts only ?
NES 4011 72oz/in (5.2kg/cm) .30sec 34 x 19 x 39mm 1.62oz (46gr) 4.8 volts only "coreless high torque".
