5945 question
I have 2 5945s going on the elevators of an EF 74" yak. I had them onboard when I noticed what I thought was gear slop so into Hitec they went and they got new gears and cases and a fully clean bill of health. I just put them back on and still find a little play in the gears. This wouldn't be bad except they have 1 1/2" arms on them so the slop is magnified on the control surface. I checked the servos with other arms to make sure it is not the output shaft. It amounts to between 1/16th and 1/8th inch of play in the surface. My concern is the possibility of flutter. I just wanted to check to see if anyone else runs into this with these servos. Is it anything to be overly concerned with or is this the norm? I have 5985s, 5925s and 5625s and I can feel some play with the gear mesh but not quite as much as the 45s.
Thanks for any help or comments,
Jeff

RE: 5945 question
metal gear servos require a little slop... not much, just enough to allow for heat expansion.
The 5955 and 7955 Titanium gears have zero slop due to titanium expansion to heat is almost negligible. also TG's wont wear out.
That's my story and I'm stickin to it.
