RADIO FOR REDCAT SHOCKWAVE
I just ordered a Redcat Shockwave, an entry level car that comes with the radio. I'm wondering about the range of this radio. Can I get more range from a sub $100 radio? Would a sub $100 radio give me any performance advantages? Or should I not bother, as the car with starter kit was only $130 to begin with.

http://www.rcuniverse.com/magazine/a...article_id=880 is a review of this car. Says @ 50 yard radio range in the test car. How much range do you want as that is half of a football field?

RE: RADIO FOR REDCAT SHOCKWAVE
I've seen much more expensive cars use 5-wire servos instead of the standard 3-wire servos. This is something you should check. If, in the future, you decide to upgrade Tx's (maybe to a computer radio or 2.4GHz....or multiple cars on one Tx) you need to know if the servos are 3-wire or not. If they are, it's a matter of switching receivers. If not....it'll be a LOT of work to upgrade the car to a new Tx.
