RE: New Hitec Aurora 9-Channel 2.4Ghz Radio System
Michel,
I'm trying to think. I have my timers set so that they come on only after I hit about 7% throttle or more. It seems like you may be able to set a Pmix to have your Aux channel energized when below 25% throttle only. Not sure I'll have to play with my radio and experiment. Hopefully that may give you some ideas.

Doesn't your onboard ''digital'' driver have an adjustment like mine do so that you set them when to go on and off?? Just turn the small dial . Or a ''set'' button on a Y or a cahnnel directly mixed to throttle.

4*60 ,........... I think youre right . I was thinking about that after I posted . I will find the instructions . It,s been so long , I truely do forget . And , yes there is a , " SET " , button on it

You probably should stick with something other than A9. You already know everthing so hard for guys like you to move on to new technology.
I have never seen Mayberry bash another brand. He pretty much stresses the facts about Hitec stuff.
Aurora 9 problem free here 1for 18 months and hundred of flights!

your battery status may be set up to switch and beep by the factory , 72mhz requires more current to transmit than 2.4 ghz
so they may have it set so you check you battery level more frequently since the A9 uses a 6 cell battery

Mike,
That was for a post about a day or so ago, the guy was totally ripping Hitec about he was glad they were not the Pioneers. Well I think Futaba had they're hands in 2.4 for a few years before they entered the RC hobby game and they still had glitches. Two I can think of was the high end receivers over heating or just not handling heat well. Lets not forget the ID code thing that could put multiple radio's on the same channels, but I guess these were not problems? Brown outs from Spek aren't or weren't a problem nor were fraid wires by Spek and Airtronics? I guess if you go to the Horizon service bulletins none of these are problems either.
Don't get me wrong, I personally don't have a problem with any of the companies as long as they are willing to fix the problems. I just happen to like the Aurora 9 the best.

Hi Boothg-3,
Mike M said he will check it out and get back to us when he gets his hands on a Spectra Pro module. I'm hoping it will be a simple softeware fix, or he can find a method to turn it off. It is annoying and I hope it has not been done on purpose by the factory.
Thanks for your suggestion.

RE: New Hitec Aurora 9-Channel 2.4Ghz Radio System
Well guys,
I did not fly this week end due to weather and other interuptions. However, I took my Tx and another plane equipped with an Optima 9 this time. I did a range check with the TX on power down. I walked 310 feet before loosing signal to the plane. I walked back about three feet and the plane reaquired the signal before the 90 seconds expired and the TX went to full power again.
I don't know what anyone else is seeing as the max distance on power down but, I felt this was pretty good.

RE: New Hitec Aurora 9-Channel 2.4Ghz Radio System
Ihave two A9s and a mix of ten Rxs in 6, 7 and 9 channel versions. Started flying the A9 in March 2010.
No problem getting 100 paces range check on power down.
Flys to the range of my eyeballs on lots of different type models, electric and 4 stroke.
Ieven had one of the original March 2010 Rxs where the little BODA antenna wire was not well supported where it went into the BODA body. A few times my plane would fly well but not taxi back from the far end the runway. Range check at the field with the plane on a safety table was always good. After more than 150 flightswith no problems Inoticed one day that the little wire had fallen off. So Ihad made only God knows how many perfect flights with part of the antenna missing.
Hitec improved the BODA assembly early on but Iforgot to put the recommended silicon fillet on the old one Ihad. They gave me a free new antenna for the one that lost the "stinger"!
So the link is good for sure!
Enjoy,
Jim D

Should've been clearer. I downloaded the latest manual on Optima receivers and was trying to print a copy for my files. When I print the " middle " section does not print. I don't know if anyone else has the same problem. Are these docs formatted differently ? Thanks again.
