Default Hitec w/ Futaba?

Ok, probably a stupid question and I may start a war here between Futaba and Hitec devotees, but here goes anyway. I have the opportunity to purchase a new Hitec receiver, servos etc., essentially a Hitec flight pack. The seller indicates it's totally compatible with my Futaba transmitter. Should I pay a bit more and stick with Futaba flight packs or will this one work fine? What about quality? Are Hitec receivers split between high and low band like Futaba?

Thanks,
Rod

Yes it will work just fine.
No, Hitec does not do the High/Low band thing.

Jim is correct. I use a Hitec flight pack in two of my planes while using a Futaba 8UAF transmitter. Hitec stuff is real good quality.

HiTec make Rx's for either Futaba/HiTec or JR/Airtronics. all of HiTec's RX's are capable of using any if there crystals across the frequency board on 72mhz.

HiTec is considered backwards compatible with all of Futaba's gear.

HiTec RX's are considered superior to most other midrange RX's on the market [including Futaba/JR/Airtronics] by those the test and evaluate products as such. It all adds up in the testing and evaluation performace numbers...

HiTec even offers a dual use phase shift RX that will work on negative or positive shift systems such as Futaba and or JR...

Great value for the money. Generally $58.99 with the crystal of your choice...

I have used many Hitec receivers with my Futaba transmitter with perfect success. For the money, I don't think you can buy a better PPM/FM receiver than Hitec. If you want PCM then you have to look elsewhere -- I think...

Cheers!
