I presently own a JR 12X and a number of JR 921 and 1221 receivers. I plan to purchase the new/soon to be released Hitec Aurora 9 radio system as my second radio and as a back up for the 12X. To do this I also have to purchase a Spektrum DSM2 air module (the one that fits the Futaba 9C) with either the 7 channel or 9 channel Spektrum receiver. For the moment I have decided on the 7 channel receiver because I don't need another 9 channel and the cost is an additional $70. However, I believe that the 7 channel receiver recently underwent an upgrade to include the 'flight log' capability and other improvements. I sent Horizon an email asking how I can tell if the receiver I am ordering is an upgraded version and they informed me that you cannot tell without testing. My question is: at what point did Spektrum begin delivering the upgraded version and if I buy one today what is the likelyhood that I will recieve the new version instead of the old version? Your comments would be much appreciated.

It's my understanding that the data capable AR-7000's also say "Data" near the Batt/Bind port.

Thanks for the feedback. I will order directly from Horizon and that should insure that I get the updated version. My concern is that this combination (Futaba Spektrum module and the receiver) may have been sitting on the shelves for a bit. Thanks again.
