Hyperion Coreless Servos
Being the tinkerer that I am, I purchased enough of these high-torque coreless metal gear servos to outfit two of my 50cc gassers. Also bought the programmer (it's a USB adapter with a small module, free download software to run it).
The main advantages so far is that these are almost as "programmable" as Hitecs, have excellent resolution, very tight (and adjustable) deadband, and exceptionally nice fit gears. Using Airwild MLP arms (Futaba style), the control systems are VERY tight, and at 2usec deadband, my JR 9303 trim authority at "3", they will resolve ONE trim step!!! Measurable at the arm!
They are plenty strong and very precise, and are working well on the 2S A123 batteries.
I'll report back as I get more time on them, but thought I'd start the thread. I know "e fliers" have used these forever, but only recently did they get into the coreless, higher torque servos. BTW - they are "standard" size, and mounting holes are close enough to Hitec that the replacement of Hitecs didn't need redrilling.
I'm using both the DS-20xTMD and the DS-20xSMD, and the DS-20GMD for throttle. VERY nice.
(I purchased all of mine from ALL eRC in Arizona - here's a link - FAST service, NO shipping charge !!! http://www.allerc.com/index.php?cPat...er&filter_id=3 )

RE: Hyperion Coreless Servos
Specs for all servos are here ; http://media.hyperion.hk/dn/at-ser/A...16-DS20all.pdf
Programmer and general info here: http://media.hyperion.hk/dn/at-ser/atservo.htm
Picture attached is the x20TMD.
(No, I'm not sponsored, or discounted. Just wanted to share what seems to be a great performing servo at a "value" price!!!)

Hi Bob!
Great review, many thanks!
So what's your impression of the servos so far based on having more time on them?
