Default on/off switch from esc

If you have an esc with bec & no on/off switch can you wire one in using the servo lead like in the red wire? Or by doing so would you harm the esc or receiver, etc. Just curious.

You can use a Switch Harness between the ESC and the Rx, but it only kills power to the Rx, not to the motor. I have an Eflite Beaver with a 4s 4000mah LiPo pack. I use an MPI Arming Switch to Connect and Disconnect the battery to the ESC. It minimizes Arcing and prevents the ESC from Draining the battery.

Part #6970

http://www.maxxprod.com/mpi/mpi-21.html

There are other versions of this switch on this page. Some use Ultra Deans Connectors and some use Anderson Power Pole Connectors.

This company makes many things including ESC Switches and Heavy Duty Switch Harnesses
