I thought FUTABA bragged that they had the most experience with 2.4 technology. The discontinuation of these receivers and all the controversy that followed them cannot help them any.
I made the switch to 2.4 this spring, and after reading all of the Heat related issues, and how Futaba was handleing them, I decided to steer clear of FAST and go with Spectrum.
I was a JR guy to begin with, but was open to change, but I could not understand how they were having all the issues with there technology.[]

Some folks had servo issues due to lower signal voltage. It appears, due to the wailing about it, Futaba returned the new receivers (HS series) back to higher signal voltage and advanced the technology by introducing switchable pulse speeds to enhance digital servo operation. Some dildoes are already complaining about that change because they haven't bothered to read the part of the specs saying SWITCHABLE!
Futaba's FASST technology is based on their years of producing proven high end 2.4 equipment. Perhaps that is why all radio manufacturers other than JR/Spektrum use similar hopping technology. Must be something very good about it.

AV8R,
For some reason he is referring to the 6EX/7C advisory that is posted as a sticky.
Not sure how that relates to this thread at all.

Mike,
I'll be getting one soon, but what will happened if you use all digitals but one analog on the throttle channel?
Doug.

sorry i was gone all weekend, but just like Silent_AV8R said...just reassign the throttle channel to the higher number.
when in HS mode the analogs will buzz like crazy at nuetral................i didn't try on the throttle channel, but it makes sense that the HS mode may just burn out an analog.

I would love to try the new R608HS in the QQ YAk 54 I'm getting ready to maiden. I fly with a 9Cs and TM-8, so at the most I would have to P-mix the throttle to channel 7, move the ignition opto kill switch to ch 8. I would still have the ability to run the 5 digitals I'm running on the remaining 5 HS channels. Second elevator servo can easily be on ch 5 with the 9C, by using a P-mix, also handy if you want to use an R607FS in a typical 6 servo aerobatic plane
Even with a radio that doesn't allow total flexibility in assigning channels like the 12FG, there's still a lot of usefulness to the the HS option[8D]
Progress, I love it.
Pete

Thanks. Oddly I do not recall taking a beating there, or anywhere for that matter. Oh well. Thanks.
Back on tpic, I have about 6 flights on my R6008HS installed in a 2-meter electric powered pattern plane. THe plane is a composite construction with a fair bit of CF in the nose, along with the electic motor, ESC and a BIG 10-cell (10S) lipo pack. SO far no issues at all. I am running it in mormal mode right now to get a good feel before switching it over to high speed mode so I can compare the two.

I wish I had a 10C to play with. With a 9Cs you just go to the AUX-CH menu in basic setup and set that channels control to NULL.
Just took a look at the manual online, it looks like the same as the 9C, when you set channel 5 to NULL in the AUX-CH menu, then only the mix will affect channel 5.
Good luck,
Pete

Here's the real truth about the gold dots. They are called tranquilizing dots. They were first tested on hamster running cages with larger pink dots. This calmed the hamsters substantially but left the hamsters still running at a steady pace. Then they tried the green upgrade dots, purchased used from Great Planes who had been using them for indication that the chargers were the latest model with more features. This slowed the hamsters down to a walk, but Dr. Soy Saki of Futaba was still not satisfied. Then came the small gold dots. The hamsters stopped in their tracks, lay down, and went to sleep.
You guys can go to bed now and get some sweet hamster sleep. Problem solved!
