Default Flat Channel knob

Can the Flat channel knob on radios be changed to a three position switch ? Could/would this have to be done by the manf..

It would be helpful if you indicated which Tx you have. I assume you mean the Flap Channel Knob. I am sure that you could replace the Flap Channel Knob with a three position switch, but you would need to know how to wire it up to make use of it.

Were you thinking of using this switch to get 3 Flap positions. Radios like the JR 8103 and 9303 not only have 3 position switches for Flaps, but they have the programming that enables you to assign a different amount of Flap to each position and also to assign Elevator coupling to compensate for Pitch effects when Flaps are deployed. Just putting in a 3 position switch will not affect any of the programming.
