Default DX6i with 3 ch. surface RX

I am assuming that you can bind a 3 ch. surface RX, say the SR3000, to a DX6i? If so will left - right on the right stick work the steering channel on the SR3000?

I would not "assume" if I were you....

Not sure of exactly what the technical difference is, but AFAIK you cannot mix "air" and "surface" systems even though the 2.4GHz band is not broken up into "air" and "surface" frequencies.

There are a few guys using the 6 channel air rx's on ground stuff as a solution.
