Default Servo Arm Compatibility

Are the Hitec/RCD or the Futaba servo arms compatible with the Tower Hobbies TS-53 Standard Servo?

I'm not sure, but take a look at the DuBro series of servo arms. They make the to fit most if not all the most popular servos and their web site, or Tower's site should tell you what servos the arms will fit.

My guess is that the Futaba arms fit the Tower servos. I don't know this to be a fact though.

Futaba arms fit the TS-53.

Not all Tower/Hobbico servos are the same. Some are rebadged Hitec, some Futaba.

Since the splines used by Hitec and Futaba are different, definitely one of these isnot compatible with Tower. As Dick T mentioned, all towerservos may not all have the same spline pattern. The problem witha mismatched servo and arm is thearm may slip under load. Not good for control surfaces. Youwould probably get awaywith a mismatch on the throttle. Not to much load there and if it did slip it probably would not causea crash or control problem.

Thanks all for the information. Back in the days before computer transmitters, one way to adjust the throw on a servo was to use adjustable lenght servo arms. I have a number of them for my old Kraft KPS14 and 15servos but I now need one that fits Futaba standard servos. The only one I could find was in a Tower Hobbies set for their standard servos such as the TS-53.

Tower Hobbies TS-53 pictured is clearly a rebadged Futaba with give away lead and spare part number FUTM2260. The TS-53 horn package is same Futaba item, no adjustable horn.
The only known servos currently supplied with an adjustable arm are made by Hitec RCD. Those horns are also available separatelyas Hitec Standard Horn Set # 56315 .[Tower omits to mention that this is the sameset assupplied with all Hitec standard servos except the cheapest (HS-303) supplied with two thick cross horns but does accept hese horns, not just the servo mentioned.]

Alan, here is the servo arm set:

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXL245&P=Z

It also comes packed with the following Tower standard BB TS-67 servo:

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=TOWM5220&P=Z

As far a compatibility Tower's statement is "This is a servo horn set for all the STANDARD size CS and TS servos (however,
these WON'T fit the 11, 31 or 72 models). Includes 3 white nylon servo arms."

I read this to say that it will fit the TS-53.

Bruce

Edit:

Hitec also as a different servo arm set with an adjustable length arm:

The gear, Horns, and hardware sets quoted are simply rebadged Hitec items, horns being the previously quoted Hitec part number 56315 (as confirmed manufactuer's part number onthe servo page).
There is no way those smaller Hitec 24 spline horns can fit on the thicker25 spline output shafts of a TS-53 (Futaba) servo. - have been involved with both import & retail of many brands including Hitec and Futabaforsome years and same questions are frequently answered..

Well we will see since I am going to order them in a couple of weeks. They will either fit the Futaba servos or the Hitec servos. I will let you know.

FUTABA 100%. Check the servo specs of the servo with hitec and see the same. That will tell you which servo are wich. Tower servos are hitec and futaba.

Alan, I ordered the Tower servo arm set and you were right. They fit the Hitec servos, not the Futaba ones. Thanks for the input.
