Don, my computer at work has security settings that are not compatible with the new editor so I followed the "settings" link and switched back to the 'old' one.
I type so slowly that my posts used to time out all the time. Now I use 'notepad' to type what I want, click "new post" or "reply," paste in what I typed, and click "OK."
