Default Motor turns

I have a 27 turn motor and i read some where that the less turns the faster the engine. so what is the advantage of more turns? is a 27 turn motor pretty bad for off road driving?

Yes, but the more turns the higher the torque.

If you apply the analogy to driving a stick shift car, trying to drive the car all the time in 4th gear goes fast, but is slow to get up to speed. This is like a low turn motor.

Trying to drive the car all the time in 1st gear allows for powerful pulling and quickly getting up to speed, but the top speed is not as high. This is like a high turn motor.

What you need is a balance in the middle.

Probably not... Look at the Trinity 19 turn motor or similar if you want to upgrade.

FYI You'll get a better response if you post in the proper forum here: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/forumid_147/tt.htm

Mike.
