Hitec HS 5955 TG in a Jet
Do you think it's a reliable servo in a 23 kg Jet application -
I just heard some rumors about this servo to burn down during
flights
Could my thoughts be a reasonable issue in flight.

RE: Hitec HS 5955 TG in a Jet
When I tested the servos five years ago the 5955 produced a little more than 1/2 the torque that Hitec claimed. The JR 8611A on the other hand produced what JR claimed. At that time they both used the same motor and the 8611A would only last about 15 seconds at maximum torque. The 5955 lasted about 3 minutes at maximum torque.

I use them in a GP Yak54. Not a lot of time on them but I'm happy. I dont fly jets, but it seems servos would be no place to experiment. With that kind of money invested I would buy what the general concensus uses. At our field, its JR in jets.

I have them in a 35% Carden Extra powered by a Wren Turboprop. Two on each aileron, One on each elevator and two ganged together on the rudder. Never had a problem. The titanium gears dont seem to have any slop.
