Default Hitec Electron 6 - Is it normal?

Hi,

I wanted to buy a new receiver Electron 6 today, but when I tried it I have discovered that the servo on the first channel was twisting crazily with transmitter turned of. It happened only on the first channel, the rest of them did not move.

When I turned on the transmitter, everything was aparently OK.

Is it normal?
I have tried three receivers (on different places to check if I am in a zone with strong transmitters) with the same result.

I have used only one crystal in all tests. As with transmitter turned on everything functions perfectly, I suppose that the crystal is OK.

We have tried also futaba receivers and servos were totaly quiet with the transmitter turned off.

as long as it is ok when the transmiter is on it should be ok. I think it is only because it is picking up other interfierence but when your radio is on it over rides with a stronger signal. This is my guess so you may want some more oppinions.

All Rx's if on when the Tx is off will seek out the strongest signal which is in the form of RF noise and will display this behavior. Some brands do this a little more than others but all will do it depending on what is going on in your local RF evironment at that moment. It make no difference in the radios performance.

Also this is why many say the RX should be last on and first off before and after a flight to prevent an overdriven servo. At a busy field though I always turn the Rx momentarily on first to look for someone switched on with that frequency and this has saved me on numerous occasions.
