Best aftermaket source for TX batteries
I want to replace my TX battery in my Futaba 8U transmitter. Can I get some leads on a good source for these? I would like to kick up the Mah rating to at least 1200. Not really interested in going lipo yet. NiMh would be fine I think.

I use 2500mah 2cell LiPos from TrueRC.com. If you want NiMh, you can go to NOBS Batteries or Batteries of America. You can also get Enyloop batteries which are like NiMh, but hold their charge for a much longer period, like LiPos. A123 batteries are also a good choice. They are Lithium based, somewhat heavier than LiPos, but with a voltage closer to NiMh.

Will that radio take AAs? If so, try the Sanyo Eneloops from Amazon. I just put them in my Futaba 3PM 2.4. They're just great. 2000 mAh, and they hardly self discharge.

First Class & Trustworthy! Not cheap, but IMO, batteries are not an item to skimp on.
1650 NiMH # HR-1650 AAU has served well for years now.

I've used these battery packs in my Futaba Tx's, and just got one for my new RDS 8000. 2500 mah for $13.45 I've had no problems with these or the 4.8 and 6v Rx packs. They last all weekend (at least). They're great! Visit their store, they have all kinds of RC batteries. Great deals on two or three packs too.
