losi traxxas and others can be found cheap especially on ebay. i'm just wonder if not having epa's is really gonna hurt my hitec or airtronic servos since they aren't cheap servos? i wouldn't keep it for ever,just to get me started. till i had funds to upgrade my radio.

Many years ago no radios had EPA's.
You just had to pay attention to how you hooked the servos up. It worked just fine
