Default DSM2 Air Module

Have very many people been using this module wth the older JR radios? Any problems, or has there been good success?

I have a 9303 heli radio that I would hate to get rid of...

They have been working fine. I have one in my XP9303 and my friend has one in hs XP8103. Several other club members have them in their XP9303's.

I've used my module in my 9303 and an older 8103. Works great.

Just make sure you get the new version with the integrated antenna. The old one was a pain with the wire and all. The new one you can leave the 72mhz antenna in and just switch modules.

Also make sure the module fits tightly in the Tx! I have the older version and the module was a bit loose. I just put some isolating tape around the perimeter to fill the gap and had no problems. Probably the newer versions fits better, just a heads up.

don't know if they still do or not, but if you have one of the loose fitting older modules, you might want to contact Horizon about it - they did have a program where they'd send you a replacement case if you let them know about the old one. I did, and ended up with one of the new style cases with the integrated antenna! Can't beat that, eh?

good deal for sure.I might just try that.

What does the integrated antenna looks like? Is the antenna sticking out of the module in the back? Is it practical?

thanks

looks kinda like this:

That picture was borrowed from the Horizon Hobby website. Hope they don't mind.

Makes the conversion from 72MHz to 2.4 GHz quite easy - just unsnap the old module, pop in the new one.

I noticed they only make a 7 channel and 9 channel, so if you have an 8103 would you use the 9 channel version or the 7 channel version?

As far as the module goes, they only make a 9 channel module for JR and an 8 channel version for Futaba. The difference is whether you pay for a 7 channel or 9 channel receiver
