Default Airtronics MX-Sport 2.4 - channel 3 ??

Hi,

I am new to this rc thing. I just got myself the Airtronics MX-Sport 2.4G FHSS-2 transmitter with a 3 channel receiver. I was told by the hobby store guy that i could use the 3rd channel to turn on/off my LED lights on the electric car. I can't figure out how. I went into settings and only thing for channel 3 is OFF/REV.. Did the guy pull my leg so i would get the transmitter??

Default RE: Airtronics MX-Sport 2.4 - channel 3 ??

I do not have this radio, but I looked for the manual, online, and Airtronics does not seem to have one there.

Usualy, a Non-Proportional channel can only act as an On/OFF Switch. My Futaba 9CAP Tx had 9 channels. Ch1-8 were Proportional, meaning that the servo would move at the same rate you would move the stick or lever. You could also control the End Points/ATV/Travel. The 9th channel could only work for something like a Speed Brake or Retracts, where you flick the switch and the servo goes all the way, Forward or Reverse.

Years ago we used to be able to buy an Electronic Switch. It came with an extension that plugged into the Rx and you could connect anything to the Electronic Switch that you wanted to turn On and Off.

Do the lights on your car have a connector designed to plug directly into the Tx? Is there a switch on the Tx assigned to Ch3?

Perhaps someone who actually has this radio will respond.

the end of the radio there is a switch that you can turn on and off. not sure if this will turn on and of leds but that is where the control for channel 3 is.
