RE: Is my JR screwed?
I still have one Futaba tx and several JR's. I make up pigtails for my Digipulse and the JR's have a colored tape on the connector. No problem.

Greg,
Yes, you could place an inline diode so as to prevent reverse connection. However, if you did this, it would deny you the facility to discharge your battery whilst in set.
If you can let me know what model of JR transmitter this is, I can see if I have the circuit diagram covering that charging area.

RE: Is my JR screwed?
I have a JR10SX2. I bought it on E-Bay. It didn't come with a charger so I reversed the wires on the change plug in the radio.....problem solved....... Almost any plug will fit into the JR receiver. Most of the new ones have gone to the J plug. The ones that don't you can trim the tab of with an Exacto knife and it works. There are minor solutions to your problems. JR has a great reputation.
When I changed over I had to sell some Futaba and Hitec receivers. Hitec now makes receivers that work with JR and some are able to switch back and forth.
We don't live in a perfect world and everybody wants you to buy there product. So just make the best of it and enjoy the sport.
