Default Interference with video transmitter

Hello all,

I am kind of new to the RC hobby and I would appreciate some help with the radio systems.

I am using an Assan X8 2.4Ghz transmitter and an Assan X8R7 receiver (http://assan.cn/main/product_24Ghz_miniall_en.html);

I also have a TX-2400-1000 wireless video transmitter (http://www.rangevideo.com/index.php?...&products_id=6) ; i did not think too much when i bought this, but now that I think it is interfering with the Assan radio system; i would lose control after 10 feet of range, lol.

According to the spec sheet, the video transmitter runs at:

CH1 2410mhz
CH2 2430mhz
CH3 2450mhz
CH4 2470mhz
CH5 2370mhz
CH6 2390mhz
CH7 2490mhz
CH8 2510mhz

I have tried both CH1 and CH4, and both would screw up my control radio.

I am looking for some advices and suggestions, and I have no idea what frequencies the Assan radio system uses.

(1)
I was wondering if I use the CH8 on the video transmitter the problem would be solved since CH8 is running at over 2.5Ghz, and I just need to get a video receiver that receives at that frequency. (my current video receiver only has CH1-4).

Or
(2)
I just have to get a different video transmitter that runs on the 1.2Ghz band.

Thanks a bunch!

Oscar.

Default RE: Interference with video transmitter

Having a 2.4 GHz transmitter that close to your receiver is going to overdrive the receiver and block out your R/C signal. You'll need to use a different frequency. You also don't want a transmitter that is a harmonic of the receiver frequency. 1.2 is a harmonic. Same problem. You might try something around 900 MHz.

thanks for the info.
So you think the ch8 2510mhz on the video tx won't help either?

My guess is that it will depend on how well your receiver rejects adjacent frequencies. If the receiver is built with good quality components it might work. I'm afraid I can't give you a definite answer.
